Andy Sargeant, local business owner of AJS Tyres Lower Kingswood, Surrey's leading Land Rover 4x4 specialist for over 20 years, brought home several prestigious French race titles at the arduous 2019 French Tout-Terrain Championship.

Sargeant 65, who has raced since winning his first British Championship in 1989 immerged victorious as the 2019's French Tout Terrain 4x4 Production Champion.

The 4x4 race covers 300 kilometres across the open French countryside and some tarmac sections, with an average of 130 competing teams over ten rough terrain 4x4 rallies held in the North and South of France.

Team AJS Tyres dominated the 2019's Championship racing in their Land Rover Defender 110 on General Tire and Insa Turbo mud-terrain tyres – both brands legendary in their extreme off-road performance. The championship for the first time permitted British race teams to enter without French residency allowing team AJS Tyres to compete, leading to a blazing six rally win, two 2nd places and securing the sought-after accolade of 2019's 4x4 Production Champion.

Andy and his team collected their awards at a glittering ceremony held at the Theatre Du Chatelet, Paris in December 2019.
